About Generator Installations
Generator Installations Ltd is a specialist engineering company with over a decade of experience delivering fuel systems, pipework installations and associated infrastructure projects across a range of sectors.
Working alongside our sister company, Metcraft, we provide complete fuel storage and fuel transfer solutions for critical infrastructure projects throughout the UK and beyond.
Due to continued growth and the successful award of a major project, we are seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager with a strong electrical background to support the delivery of a generator fuel transfer system installation for a new data centre development in Austria.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business and take a leading role in a technically challenging international project.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project delivery, from mobilisation and planning through to installation, commissioning and final handover, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
While the project is ultimately based in Austria, there may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to initially work within our UK operations before transitioning to site as project requirements progress. Flexibility to travel and work internationally is therefore essential.
Key Responsibilities
Project Mobilisation & Planning
- Lead project mobilisation, including site setup and team coordination
- Manage the handover from pre-construction to project delivery
- Develop project programmes, procurement plans and reporting systems
- Establish cost controls and project monitoring procedures
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams
- Support project planning and resource allocation activities
Project Mobilisation & Planning
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and installation activities
- Lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client throughout the project
- Ensure compliance with programme requirements, quality standards and HSE procedures
- Monitor project budgets, costs and productivity
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates
- Maintain effective communication between all project stakeholders
Project Completion
- Oversee testing, commissioning and system handover activities
- Deliver O&M manuals and as-built documentation
- Ensure all project documentation is completed and submitted
- Support the successful close-out of the project
- Maintain positive client relationships through completion and warranty periods
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates
- Maintain effective communication between all project stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
- M&E qualification with a strong electrical bias, such as Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an M&E Project Manager role
- Proven experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience
- Knowledge of construction methods, engineering practices and industry regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning software
- Experience working within critical infrastructure, data centre, power generation or industrial environments would be advantageous
- Maintain effective communication between all project stakeholders
